Running your own business is so great in so many ways. I think it’s so much fun to have total say over what goes on in your company and I love not having anyone telling me what to do and when to do it – I hated having a boss that micromanaged me and that’s just what I had before. I recently went to small business.xo and that’s been nice in making the website and the phones way more professional and I’ve actually been talking to a local college about getting some interns in here which I think would be great. There’s something to be said for having a close relationship with all your employees but there’s something else to be said for being able to get free labor when you need it! I wish I could think of a better way to do this but for now I’m going to have to use some college kids to help me build this business even bigger – they’re not the worst in the world and at least they’ve got fresh ideas!

Being at Home

Being at home with the kids all day has really made me reevaluate how safe I feel when John’s not around. He actually works nights a lot of the time and during the day it’s not that bad, but at night when he’s not here it’s hard for me to fall asleep knowing the kids are in the house and they’re my responsibility. I love them so much and if anything ever happened to them I don’t know what I would do with myself! I went to www.homesecurityfamily.com not too long ago to get an alarm because I knew that would make me feel better and I’ve also been thinking about talking to a shrink about my paranoid tendencies. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I was a single mom all the time because there are only so many things you can do to feel better when you’re in a big old house alone. Who would have thought I would be the type to worry myself to death?
